You have indicated that you attended the University of Oregon as a degree seeking student, but will not graduate from the UO or another four year bachelor's program prior to applying to the term you wish to enroll at the UO. If this is correct, you must complete the UO's Reenrollment Form and return it to the Office of the Registrar. Further information about this process can be found on the Registrar's website

By continuing below you are indicating your intent to apply as an incoming freshmen student. A freshman student is a person who will graduate from high school (or earn a GED) prior to enrolling at the UO and will not have attempted any credits at a college and/or a university after high school graduation (coursework started after high school graduation). If this is incorrect, please adjust your answers to the questions above. If you are unsure please contact the Office of Admissions (admissions@uoregon.edu).

By continuing below you are indicating your intent to pursue a Postbaccalaureate (second bachelors) degree from UO. If that is incorrect, please review and change the answers you've provided above to ensure you access the correct application type. If you are unsure please contact the Office of Admissions (admissions@uoregon.edu).
By continuing below you are indicating your intent to apply as a transfer student. UO defines a transfer student as a high school (or international equivalent) graduate who has attempted any credits at a college, university, or through a credit-granting program (coursework attempted or achieved after high school graduation). If this is incorrect, please adjust your answers to the questions above. If you are unsure or your status, please contact the Office of Admissions (admissions@uoregon.edu).

As you have earned credits from an exam, you will need to contact the testing agency and have the exam scores sent officially from the testing agency to the University of Oregon.

Your choice of degree award (e.g. BA or BS) will be decided, in consultation with your academic advisor, after you enroll in the program.
You have selected a major the requires additional consideration. You will be considered for admission to the major separate from your application decision to UO. You will receive a separate decision from the program.

Personal Statement

Write about a meaningful topic that will add a unique voice to your application as well as demonstrate writing ability. Below is a list of possible topics.

1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, please share your story.
2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
3. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
4. Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma — anything of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could take to identify a solution.
5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you’ve already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.

Within your portfolio (provide link), please provide 6 (six) images of works that, together, demonstrate your creativity. The quality of the media is the most important factor in our evaluation, but showing a variety of media is also helpful to show your breadth of creativity. Applicants are allowed/encouraged to submit any existing work or may choose to create new work. Regardless of the work you choose, please limit the submission to 6 pages. It is also acceptable to show 6 works on fewer pages.

Applicants must accompany each of the 6 images or works with a short description including:
  • Title (if any)
  • Media (eg. ceramics, iPhone photography, ball-point pen on paper)
  • Description or Relevant process notes (eg. “these sketches are from my sketchbook when I visited the State Capitol building,” or “this metal sculpture was made by slowly bending thick wire using tools in our school workshop.”)
  • Attributions of collaboration or tool support (eg. “I co-created this video with my friend Alison who chose the music and the costumes. I wrote the script, selected the scene locations, and shot the video.”)
Please provide your portfolio link

Submitting supplementary documentation in support of your application may enhance your eligibility for scholarship consideration. See information and deadlines for applying for additional scholarships.

State legislation requires additional questions to be available for you to answer, on the topics of US veteran and foster care status, language background, race/ethnicity and gender/sexual identity. These questions are optional and your answers will not be used in the University’s admission decision.

The Governor's Task Force on Veteran's Services is reaching out to veterans to ensure they receive the highest level of service and benefits available. Read more about the Veterans' Services available to our students.

State legislation in Oregon seeks to have us learn more about who is considering, and enrolling in, our state's public universities as it relates to language background, along with many other factors.
Programs exist to help students who have experienced foster care in the United States pay for college.

Education institutions must give students the opportunity to self-report their race and ethnicity. Any data collected is reported by UO to the U.S. Department of Education.

You are being given the option to provide answers regarding Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. This information will be used for reporting demographic information to the State of Oregon, and potentially to help us identify students who may be interested in learning more about LGBTQIA+ scholarships and resources. The information will not be used in any way that would be discriminatory. For more information please click here.
